Mr. President, follow that just a bit further

In news today, President Obama implies that faith used as a tool to divide people is being mis-used and says there is no faith in the world that is based on hatred. Will he then note that Islam states in no uncertain terms (Sura 98:6) that "those who disbelieve, among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are the worst of created beings"? This is a faith which clearly divides people from each other based on its foundations. How about 48:29, "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves…" Is that not a clear call to hatred? Are these verses and others not used daily to call for hate, violence and oppression against non-Muslims? These facts cannot be honestly denied. Will he then conclude that Islam as a faith cannot be properly used, or will he conclude that Islam doesn't fit his definition of a faith at all? The logical contortions must be uncomfortable. No, I don't think we can expect him to take A and B and follow them to C. But it would be interesting to put him in a position where he can no longer deny the facts and see how he reacts to them.
Comments:
You're cherrypicking.
I'm aware there's plenty of representation going on as to how hateful Muslims are, and 'learned' extracts from the Qu'ran. Funny. The first question I was asked upon meeting a Muslim woman in a social setting was why Christians were so hateful; decades ago.
Ever listen to the radio ? Those goons are incredible !
You live in a world as it is - not as your prejudices make it. Pakistan just had to face up to fact that the control of the Taliban being such that opposing them would be ruinous. They were the overwhelmingly popularly supported government of Afghanistan not to long ago too BTW.
What do we care ? After years of hearing how the U.S.S.R. was going to rain destruction down on us...who is raining destruction down on whom where ?
Yep. Those 'hateful' Muslims are getting their taste of good old North American ingenuity. They really must have scared hell out of us : and those particular ones too! They can't be allowed to be safe in their homes!
Wake up - and smell the bacon.

Cherrypicking?  I'm taking the news as it's reported, and noting chapter and verse that Muslims themselves use to justify oppression of non-Muslims.  Contrast 48:29 with "turn the other cheek" (which many soi-disant Christians don't follow, but it's not the fault of the book).

How about Obama's quote, "There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being"?  I guess that fits... if you define all non-Muslims as being guilty of rejecting Islam.  And if this guy's not a real Muslim, notice that he is not being threatened with death for defaming Islam.

I could not make this stuff up.
